The data is visible in UV light no matter which angle the card has been placed. Direct lighting shows the dynamic look through elements displaying the tint, which is of gold metallic nature. The magnetic strip has now been excluded. 1D and 2D Barcodes have been introduced, which include front side card information also. Laser perforation is part of the newly designed license cards. PA is entrenched on the card and can be seen by holding the card in the light. The State motto is also laminated with optical variation along with the year when the US constitution was accepted. Security background design has UV-sensitive ink insertion.

The new designs comply entirely with the specifications of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Association.
